Northern Grampians Shire

Possessing some of the world’s most spectacular natural scenery and a rich golden heritage, the Northern Grampians Shire has established an exceptional reputation as a place to live, work, invest and visit. Located in the beautiful Grampians region of provincial Victoria, the Shire covers almost 6,000 square kilometres and services the major towns and villages of Stawell, St. Arnaud, Great Western, Halls Gap, Navarre, Glenorchy, Marnoo and Stuart Mill.

Northern Grampians has a strong economy based on agriculture, gold mining, manufacturing and tourism. Stawell is home to brick, textiles and meat production and the largest operating gold mine in Victoria. The St. Arnaud area is well known for its broad acre cropping and the Grampians National Park is a popular tourist destination, attracting more than one million visitors each year.
